Tasks and assignments
A task is a unit of work created in a project: a subject, due date, assignees, optional description, attachments, and comments. An assignment is your personal copy of that task when you are an assignee.
Why it matters
Tasks communicate what needs to be done, by when, and whether reports or uploads are required. Assignees start, work, and mark their assignment complete. Completing a task can notify the person who created it.
How it works
Open Tasks inside a project.
Web tabs: Tasks To Do, Created By Me, Tasks I'm cc'd on, and All Project Tasks.
Mobile lists: To do, Created by me, CC'd on, and All (if you have access).
Creators use Create Task on the web and can later Edit task, Pause, Resume, remind, copy, or delete (when permitted). Assignees open an assignment, may Start Task (web), complete required reports, then Mark task as completed (web) or Mark task as done (mobile). If a required report is not submitted yet, mobile asks whether to mark the task done anyway.
Statuses you may see include Not Started, In Progress, Overdue, Scheduled, Completed, Paused, Cancelled, Partially Completed, and Expired.
