Read and create broadcasts

Broadcasts share announcements with people in a project.

Who can do this​

  • Read: people on the project who can open Broadcasts
  • Create: people who see Create Broadcast on the web

Before you begin​

Open the correct project.

Read a broadcast​

Web​

  1. Open the project and select Broadcasts.
  2. Open a broadcast to read it and any comments.

Mobile​

  1. Tap the megaphone control (not a bottom tab).
  2. Review the Broadcasts list. Use filters if you need to narrow it.
  3. Tap a broadcast to read it and open any attachments.
  4. Add a comment if you need to reply.

Opening a broadcast marks it read for you. On mobile, the unread count on the megaphone decreases.

Create a broadcast​

Creating a broadcast is available on the web only.

  1. Select Create Broadcast.
  2. On Create Broadcast / New Broadcast, complete Broadcast Details.
  3. Select Create Broadcast.

Recipients can open the broadcast from Broadcasts. Leaving mid-create may ask Are you sure you want to leave?

You cannot create a broadcast in the mobile app. Ask a coordinator to send one from the web if you need a new announcement.

What happens next​

People on the project can open the announcement from Broadcasts. On mobile, empty projects show that broadcasts added to the project will appear here.

Troubleshooting​

  • Empty list (mobile): “Broadcasts added to the project will appear here.” None have been sent yet, or you are in the wrong project.
  • Badge does not clear (mobile): open the broadcast itself, then return to the list.
  • Create Broadcast is missing: you do not have create access, or you are on mobile.
